Fiji Airways is looking for a detail-oriented individual to ensure accurate Customs Duty and VAT calculations, full compliance with regulations, and timely clearance of imports and exports. This role manages cargo reservations and sales per IATA rules, Fiji Airways Freight, and Dangerous Goods Manuals to maximize flight capacity and meet annual revenue targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately classify and calculate excise duty and VAT payments, ensuring compliance with Fiji Airways, FRCA, BAF, and other regulators to avoid fines.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure imports and exports meet regulatory, operational, and financial requirements.
• Prepare accurate import/export documentation for customers.
• Operates Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) system in line with FRCA guidelines.
• Provide commercial, operational, and administrative support to Freight Managers and staff.
• Advise on special cargo handling (Dangerous Goods, Live Animals, Perishables, etc.) to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maximize aircraft freight capacity and cargo revenue by monitoring cargo loading and engaging with customers and freight agents.
• Participate in projects and special duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of a Diploma in Business Customs or equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years prior experience in freight forwarding.
• Must have prior experience in using /operating the ASYCUDA system.
• A current Dangerous Goods Acceptance (CAT 6) Certification would be an added advantage. 
• Must be computer literate.
• Conversant with Cargo Tariffs and General Cargo Rules and application.
• Must have a good level of written /verbal communication and inter-personal skills.
• High level of self-motivation and self-discipline will be required to work alone and meet goals set.
