Engineer - IT & Airline E-Operations

Fiji Airways is looking to recruit an experienced individual to fill the role of Engineer - IT & Airline E-Operations.

The successful individual is responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure and airline ground & onboard systems, while ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability in accordance with airline network security guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support essential IT infrastructure including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, and network devices for both enterprise and aircraft IT environments.
  • Manage data center and disaster recovery site operations, ensuring key components (DR restoration tests, HVAC, power, fire protection) are functional to meet RPO & RTO targets.\
  • Work with the Cybersecurity team to identify, detect, analyze, and contain cyber incidents.
  • Support mobile device setups, provisioning, and maintenance (app management, device management, end-user access) in line with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of IT Operations & Infrastructure on core IT network and infrastructure projects.
  • Align IT solutions with business requirements in collaboration with airline operational teams.
  • Perform periodic data center checks, OS patching, and maintain IT environment as per industry standards.
  • Manage configuration, setup, and maintenance of Electronic Flight Bags, specifically Class 1 and Class 2 devices (including EFB iPads) for Fiji Airways & Fiji Link.
  • Oversee Airline PKI management and enforce system security measures.
  • Maintain e-operations ground environment for Airbus and Boeing to meet compliance goals.
  • Manage mobile device management (MDM) for the fleet, including capacity planning and procurement coordination with strategic sourcing.
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of on-board aircraft systems, connected systems, and mobile devices to prevent AOG situations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for system upgrades, maintenance, and support.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with end users for UAT, version upgrades & release management for all IT applications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and support aircraft communication systems.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems.
  • Microsoft or Cisco certifications are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure administration.
  • Knowledge of Airline E-Operations is preferred but not required.
