Technical Services Coordinator
The Technical Services Coordinator provides essential support to the Manager Technical Services in the effective technical management of the Fiji Airways and Fiji Link fleet. This role is responsible for ensuring the continuous airworthiness of the fleet by managing and controlling aircraft technical specifications, including configuration and maintenance requirements.
The successful incumbent will deliver technical expertise and support to the Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure full compliance with all applicable Regulatory Authority Requirements, contributing to the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the airline's fleet.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with all Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Alert Service Bulletins (SBs), and other mandatory regulatory requirements.
- Manage and control aircraft and component modifications, repairs, systems reviews, and defect analysis.
- Actively participate in Management Review Group (SAG/MRG), Maintenance Review Group, ETOPS and Reliability Meetings, and the Daily On-Time Performance Meeting.
- Administer the Aircraft Reliability Programs, ensuring timely data analysis and reporting.
- Provide technical evaluations of airworthiness requirements and technical specifications, recommending appropriate methods of compliance and assessing specification suitability.
- Oversee the review and implementation of technical specifications for company-operated aircraft, ensuring that any company-initiated changes to manufacturer baseline specs are properly assessed and integrated.
- Maintain strong communication and coordination with Maintenance, Workshops, Quality Assurance, and Planning teams to ensure effective Technical Services support.
- Ensure that all ETOPS requirements are reviewed and incorporated into modifications, maintenance programs, and supporting documentation.
- Lead or support continuous improvement projects as assigned by the Manager Technical Services.
- Identify opportunities for improving departmental and cross-functional processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Liaise with approved third-party engineering and maintenance organizations on technical matters.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager Technical Services.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or
- Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, with appropriate ratings
- At least 7 years' experience in an engineering environment, including minimum of 4 years' experience in aviation engineering.
- An in depth knowledge of aircraft systems; as well as a comprehensive understanding of the Engineering & Maintenance requirements of aircraft.
- Experience in using computer based maintenance control programs.
- Strong Leadership and People Skills is essential.
- Project management knowledge and experience
