Technical Librarian

This role reports to Manager Technical Services and the Technical Librarian is to be responsible for the administration of all technical documentation received relating to the Engineering and Maintenance of all Fiji Airways fleets in accordance with Fiji Airways Technical Operating Procedures and Regulatory Requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a register of all incoming publications and ensures all publications received are correctly registered in AMOS.
  • Updates all publications once amendments are received from OEMS in a timely manner.
  • Advises Base and Line Station (Local & International) personnel of the correct revision status of manuals they should hold on a regular basis.
  • Advises all engineers of the correct revision status of essential manuals used for the Company aircraft via TS002 and ensures the acknowledged slip form EX002 is received within 30 days from issue. Ensures immediate update of mandatory publications and Airworthiness Directives in AMOS and relevant stakeholders advised.
  • Dispatches amendments to outstations and ensure timely receipt of acknowledgement receipt.
  • Maintains an effective and easily identifiable filing system.
  • Develops and maintains a manual inventory list showing locations.
  • Maintains a borrowing system to identify and track manuals withdrawal.
  • Ensures timely renewal of manual subscription and develops a system of highlighting or forecasting publication renewal dates.
  • Maintains sufficient quantities of Engineering Forms and ensure new forms are properly registered and loaded on FJ Intranet and AMOS as required.
  • Maintains a system of circulating Technical Information and keeping a record to confirm all information is received and read.
  • Highlighting to Manager Technical Services any backlog or delay in manual update or subscription renewal so additional manpower and funds can be addressed.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the Manager Technical Services.
  • Uses the total functionality of AMOS as required by the position to manage the role of Technical Librarian.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification or relevant post-secondary school training Library Science or Engineering.
  • Experience in an engineering administration or library environment.
  • An understanding of the Engineering & Maintenance requirements of aircraft.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Experience in using computer based maintenance control programs.
