The Safety, Quality & Security Analyst supports Fiji Airways safety performance by collecting and analyzing safety, quality and security data. This role identifies trends, supports risk assessments, and ensures compliance with aviation safety standards. The analyst also promotes safety culture through reporting and collaboration across departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESKey Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Data Collection & Management
- Collect and manage safety, quality, and security data from all operational areas.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Ensure data compliance with national and international aviation standards (e.g., ICAO, IATA).
Safety Data Analysis
- Analyse safety data to identify trends, root causes, and risks.
- Use analytical tools to provide insights that support safety improvements.
- Maintain safety performance indicators (SPIs) and prepare regular reports for management.
Risk Management
- Work with Safety Managers to evaluate and prioritize risks.
- Support the implementation of safety risk mitigation strategies.
- Participate in audits, investigations, and corrective action planning.
Safety Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare reports for internal use and regulatory submission.
- Assist with performance reviews and highlight safety concerns.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
Safety Culture & Communication
- Promote safety awareness through campaigns, training, and data sharing.
- Liaise with departments to ensure policies are understood and followed.
- Join safety briefings, meetings, and risk review boards.
Tools & Systems Improvement
- Monitor and enhance safety data systems for accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify and recommend technology improvements for data handling.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in Aviation, Safety Management, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics or related field.
- Technical Training: Basic pilot Licence or aircraft maintenance engineer or certification in Aviation Safety Management or Risk Management is an advantage
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in aviation safety, safety data analysis, or a related role.
- Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and aviation safety regulations (ICAO, IATA, local civil aviation authority).
- Experience in the airline industry, specifically in operations or safety roles.
- Experience with auditing and incident investigation.
