🌱 World Environment Day

With more than 50% of Fiji’s plant species found nowhere else in the world, our islands are home to some of the Pacific’s most unique biodiversity.

This World Environment Day, we’re reflecting on the importance of caring for the natural environments that make Fiji so special. Guided by Maroroya – a Fijian value that means to care for, protect and look after something – Fiji Airways continues to support initiatives that help care for Fiji’s ecosystems.

In the spirit of this year’s theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future,” our Every Take Off, One Tree programme continues to support mangrove planting projects across Fiji. Together with our staff, partners and local communities, more than 98,000 seedlings have been planted since the programme began, alongside ongoing native tree planting and regeneration efforts.

While these initiatives are just one part of a broader effort to care for Fiji’s natural environment, they reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting the landscapes, habitats and biodiversity that make our home unique.
